Started A Complete Modern Set - Coin Community Forum

Imthealphaomega Pillar of the Community United States 3210 Posts	Posted 01/04/2016 10:11 pm Decided to start and have nearly finished a complete modern set of pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, halves, and dollars. I bought a bunch of cardboard archival folders and recently acquired a bunch of modern mint sets from 1970-1994, so I have been breaking out all the coins from those and putting them in the folders. I want to show you all the folders once everything is finished. Here is my rundown. Cents-Need the most work. Gotta get a box of pennies to fill a lot of holes. Nickels-All Jeffersons have from 1938-2015 missing 1951 and 2009P. Dimes- Missing a few silver roosevelts, haven't started for modern dates need to get a box. Quarters- Complete Halves - Should be complete. Missing 2015 PD. Eisenhowers (non silver)- Have all including 73PD NIFC. Susan B. All but 79S. This has been a labor of love and something to pass some free time over the break. Will post photos when everything is finished. Report this Post to the Staff

You mentioned cardboard folders, I started out with those as many of us probably did. But, albums are better. Alternatively, you could use 2X2 holders in a three ring binder. Doing the modern sets, gives the opportunity to acquire better grade coins at more reasonable prices. Where the classic do get very expensive. Looking forward to seeing some pictures.
