So now I'm down to needing a 16-d and a 21-d to complete my Mercury and Roosevelt silver dime album.. So far everything has been from junk silver bins at 13-15x face... I spent slightly over $20 on this 1921 p on ebay... How did I do? I wasn't expecting to win the auction and was sort of a spur of moment bid. Did I make that dreaded shouldn't have bid mistake? These are seller pics... Obviously a low end hole filler, but will fit my album nicely... If I ever decide to upgrade this set, I plan to keeping this album in tact as my first complete album, assuming I buy a 16-d (likely) and crack it out to put in album (unlikely). The 16-d would be a 1 time buy for me, so would hopefully be nicer grade to fit an upgraded set in the future.

That Merc did her duty and has nothing to be ashamed of. She has normal circulation when coins actually circulated and doesn't appear to have suffered any major hits or rim nicks or scratches.
$20 was a great price for her. Good luck with your last two. And as you said, when you do buy your 16-D, buy it in a NGC or PCGS and DON'T bust it out. Take a photo of it and insert the photo into your album and keep the coin itself in the slab.

I think you did well on this one. I have seen worse for over $30.
It will fit nicely in your album. Good luck with the 16-D and the 21-D, the hunt is the most fun especially when your down to the last couple of coins needed.

I was the other bidder on that coin, I was kind of glad I got out bid after reading some of the 241 negative feedbacks from buyers who've dealt with this seller. If that's the coin you get and it looks as good as the pictures I'd say you did well and I'd like to hear how it turns out once you get the coin....

Thank you for the feedback. I didn't think I had a chance on it, but ended at $20.50 with free shipping. It was from APMEX and auction (don't see them doing many of those).. I think it ended in early hours of night so maybe that cut down on competition. With it being from APMEX and no one bidding, I thought maybe I made a bad decision and 2nd guessed it. It will fit my Album perfectly.

@scdave- I've bought rolls of junk silver and bullion from APMEX and have never had any issues. I've never bought a single coin or made an ebay purchase with them. I expect with the clear pictures (doesn't appear the lighting was altered to make it appear better) and listed as "good" that it should be accurate. I'll let you know how it looks in hand. I didn't think I had a chance on it and was only searching ebay bc my wife was watching some boring tv show.

That is a good price for the coin pictured. I have dealt with them with no issues other than slow shipping, that did not matter to me at all. good luck.

If that coin in hand looks like photo ,then it will be more than just a hole filler.
