Just bought this one last night. How did I do for $45? I have her at EF-45.

Seller's pictures.

Looks like some minor surface pitting. I'd be at EF-45 details.

Believe it or not, I specifically asked about that. The seller insisted that it was problem-free.

EF-45 for $45!
Great bargain if true.

But that's more of a VF price.
And that's what I think; low to mid VF.

I think my point is pretty clear here. Definitely not VF.

And that is what? There is a big difference between a 45 and a 30? Then yes, I see your point.

I'm in the VF-30 camp and concerned about porosity as well.

I have really no idea why you guys are saying VF-30 when the detail sharpness (see the feather details and the leaf details) is obviously considerably sharper than the VF-30 specimen I posted, and more like the EF-45 specimen I posted. Perhaps the detail I see in these low-quality scans will be more apparent when I take in-hand pictures.

For my apparently ignorant assesment of this coin, please enlighten me in why you said VF-30. I really want to know since all of the evidence I have scrounged up points to it being much better.

More certified examples:

It looks better than a VF-30, but the lack of feather details in some areas holds it back from an XF-45.

IMO, I like it at a XF-40.
Rest in Peace

I'd be at 40, but the sellers photos leave a lot to be desired. There is no question that $45 is a good price AS LONG AS there really isn't any EVD.

I'm at XF40. The dullness of coin is leading me to the conclusion that it was cleaned and retoned. It looks to me that the original surfaces have been removed
