I thought about buying it because it is different - however 150$ times three and I don't know what are two other coins is not what I'm looking for... This I skip like the moon masks - still not sure if I regret not to buy these masks

I can probably dig around in my backyard and find a coin with a green man on it :)

This coin actually looked quite nice on the coin show. Very detailed, it could be a higher relief, much as Perth Mint has done. I liked the texture in the fields that represent the building wall, a unique touch. Its too bad they don't show the other 2 coins. My only criticism is the price. This goes for all world mint coins, not just RCM. There needs to be some major price adjustments. If this coin was at $90 I would be interested. Check out video on the coin show.

Quote: Will the second coin also be a face or something else ? The RCM website describes the second coin of the series as "Grotesque Foliated Green Man." From my reading of what a "Green Man" is, I think it's very likely that the second coin will also be a face in some form or fashion. You can read more about the history of the "Green Man" here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_Man

Great article, google green man images, there were many beautiful images. This a unique subject matter, definitely not done to death. It could have potential to be something different. I like how they represent the building. It will take a couple days for the coin show to post the video. Its nice that the mintage is only 4k. These coins get lost in the month after month releases, especially if collectors set a budget. It would be wonderful if someone posts some images if purchased. The RCM does a great job on high relief, only surpassed by the Perth Mint.

At first I thought it was covered in fingerprints, but it is just the design. I like it a bit. Not enough to drop that much money on it though.

True the way the brick work is depicted does look similar to fingerprints, especially in the artist rendering. Great effect in hand in the video. Much better than those ugly wavy lines on the obverse on large coins. Those lines really are off putting. I prefer who the do the fields on the large circulation color coins, it gives a bit of texture.

I just don't see the appeal on this coin, as the title of this coin, it's ugly.

What do you think about that coin?
I think potential buyers of this coin would be far better served by taking a tour of the Parliment buildings, snapping photos of the real thing, enlarge it to poster size and use for wall art or whatever if so inclined. There are some images that just don't work well on the small size of a silver coin and I think this is a perfect example. It makes an old piece of art appear pure ugly.

Nicely executed, with the UHR artwork, but very "niche" coin.
While the "Masks" could be purchased, cause all tribal is "in trend" , this one for very small circle of collectors. Should be 1.000 mintage, and priced much lower, to be considered purchased by average NCLT collector.

After some debate, I did opt to purchase the coin. I received it almost immediately. It is a very nice looking coin. The photos on the RCM site are a pretty good proxy of what it looks like in hand. I purchased it because of significant interest in Celtics history, more so than the fact that is a representation of sculptures in the Parliament buildings.

Clvlys, yours is an interesting reason for buying this coin, and a perfect example of why there's sometimes appeal beyond the general appearance of NCLT.
