I am pretty sure that this 1955 Lincoln Cent is a counterfeit.
As you can probably (hopefully) see in these pics, there is a rectangular slab of copper where the date is (under the date). Which leads me to believe that this is indeed counterfeit.
Thoughts....opinions?

ALSO, if it is counterfeited, is the entire cent coin fake as well or no?
And will I ever know what date it truly is if it's counterfeited?

I have dozens of pics if you need to see more than I have already posted.

Please advise. Thanks!

Are those photos or a scan? Coin looks real but beat up from being circulated.

Photos enlarged from my iPhone (which is all that I have atm).

I can upload the original sized pic/s if you want?

And yeah it is in atrocious!!
I got it today from my coin hunting.
Would you keep this one?
Obviously (to me) it's not the famous #1 DDO. But I do think that it has doubling in Liberty (BERTY), IN GO E TUT.
What would that make it? I'm think it would be the 1955 DDO, die2...but hey what do I know! #practicallynothing
Rest in Peace

Looks like just a normal well circulated been around the corner a bunch of times Lincoln Cent. besides no one will counterfeit a regular 1955-P unless they wanted to fake the king of double dies , which yours is not.

I don't see the "slab of copper" you are talking about...

...but I agree with the others - not counterfeit.

Going by those pics I would not keep it. Have you read the tips on using phone cameras in the photo section?

Not a keeper to me because I don't see anything special about it but that might be because of the pics. Here are two links on phone cameras, give them a read. https://goccf.com/t/160092
