Is there a particular series or denomination of classic coins that you do NOT collect?

I consider myself to have a fairly large collection but only a handful of Barber coinage. This series has just never been appealing to me.

I'm curious to see if other collectors just don't have a interest in a particular series and why.

I do not have much interest in the Barber coinage. It's too boring for my taste.

I don't know why, but I am not exactly turned on by Barber coinage either. Just about anything else fits well into my collection, some better than others. I do have some Barbers, don't get me wrong, but they just don't have much appeal to me for one reason or another.

Gold. Just not enough money

I love Barber coinage though, exept that it is widely collected and sometimes you can buy a decent Seated Liberty quarter for the same amount of a Barber quarter in a coresponding grade with a similar mintage. That being said, seated and bust coins are my favorite series of the 1800's.

Agree the design is rather bland - the last series where more than one denomination bore the same features.

Gold and while I absolutely love a few of my barbers I could never really seeing me want to complete a collection of them. I'm more drawn to the Art Deco coins and Seated coinage.

Nice to see that a few others think like I do. Thankfully I never even got started with Barber's and I have avoided them all together.

My favorite series would be Capped Bust coinage. There is just not a prettier design on a classic coin in my opinion.

Barber sets are not for the faint of heart. The last three sets I started were the Barber dime, quarter & most recently the half. I was successful in completing the dime, short two coins on the quarters, and just getting started on the halves. The way I got into most of my later sets, I just had the coins sitting around in cigar boxes, and finally decided to do something with them. I just bought my first two halves this week. They are beautiful coins in high grades, but the slicks are not all that desirable.

I was only interested in the Barber keys like the 1895-O Dime.
I'm not really into Seated coinage but really like the Liberty Head nickels. In fact, I'm working on a set now :-)

Do not collect Indian quarter eagles, half, or eagles, very boring coins.

I don't get into most gold, other than a type coin or 2. It is very challenging to complete any Barber set, but I find myself more attracted to them since finding the albums and a G+ 1895-O dime in a junk bin.

I REALLY like the classic gold designs. They are just too expensive for my budget. I like picking classic gold up when I find a decent deal but that is about it.

I have been stuck on Capped Bust quarters for a while now. Kind of surprises me. At last count I was up to 20+ problem free CBQ's.

I have a large sign tagged to my monitor that says "If it ain't purity - don't buy it at ANY price." That sums up what I don't buy in classic US.
