Was wondering if this is a doubled die. Looks like it to me but want to make sure. It's a 1932S. The wear makes it hard for me to tell. Thanks for looking.

I think it could be. I cant find it listed anywhere but that doesn't mean anything when the coin has notches like that on the letters.

Lets see more pictures of QUARTER DOLLAR

It sure looks like it to me. You can definitely see splits on each side of the bottom of the "R" vertical.

I would need to see more areas of the coin to be sure. Other letters on the outside rim. When I find one device with a notch in the closer to rim devices. I don't get real excited. But if I find several then I get more interested. bag marks can make a notch. But it is still looks interesting. What concerns me is the mark East of the E. Looks like it could be die wear. So other devices would need to be examined.

Thanks everyone. Yes it does look to be a little bit of die wear. Here are some more of the rim letters. They appear to show similar. The remaining letters not shown do have something there but not good enough to tell anything.

Although minor, yes...that IS a doubled die, no question about it. Look in references for a class 2 doubled die, because that's what this is. So in CONECA's old listing system, it would be a number-R-II.

It's in the extra, thin lines that create notches in the very bottoms of the letters, most easily visible in the first image of the R of QUARTER and the D of DOLLAR.

Thanks everyone. And thanks coppercoins for getting me pointed in the right direction. Seeing as how they made very few of these coins I'm sure there are many more out there. Still nice to find.
