I was making scans of this 1900 O dollar and I noticed what appears to be a CC mint mark under the O. I've never tried to attribute a VAM before but after looking around on a few websites, it looks like this might be VAM 12. Am I correct?
I think you have this right, although I'm far from a VAM maven.
May I ask how long had you had this specimen before detecting the overmintmark? Any such command a substantial premium, so on that basis alone it's a good thing to have picked up on.
Tht coincides with my experience that often insufficient attention is paid to "common' Morgans, and that there are desirable varieties that can be found amongst the "culls" for those willing to take the time to look through them.
