Quote: Features on the coin are frosted giving it a deep dimensional look. It's like the seller is sort of admitting in the description that something was done to it. I wonder if "frosted" means sandblasted?

Legit coin, but I'm thinking PMD.

Mechanically polished, and then painted with probably model paint or spray-paint.

I think the coin is fake. I have a hard time fathoming someone being able polish right up to all the design elements like the sun's rays, flag, and lettering and still leave those elements frosted or not leaving a halo around those elements. The luster on this coin is not natural for a genuine example of this coin and is similar to some struck counterfeits that I have seen.

On this coin the edges remain sharp on both obverse and reverse with almost no indication of circulation or damage or rim dings that would certainly have been seen on a walker that has circulated this much.
If you look at the rest of the coins this seller is listing, you see the same type of 'problems' that set off alarm bells on everything they are offering.
How about a 1938-D Walker that's in the low VF range for an opening bid of $50 and no interest. Even better is the same date/mm 1938-D with a high AU obverse and a low XF reverse that he can't get a $40 opening for. Why less for the 'better' example?
Coupled with the fact that all the photos are dark, dark, dark.

I believe this coin to be fake as well. The date and lettering do not look like slabbed coins of similar condition. Not to mention, NO way there is a 1916 frosted proof like walker, if there was it would be worth a ton of cash.

Looks like a fake to me. That date looks nothing like the date on a genuine oin.

Looks pretty fake, seller probably trying to get away with it by saying it was frosted and what not...

Something is Fishy in Denmark? How can they guy have over 2,300 Positive Reviews wth 100% Rating and be a crook? Take a look at his last 20-30 recent sales, they all praise the Seller but more mention Fast Ship times than Quality but still the Seller always gets a positive review and offers a No Reason Needed Money Back Guarantee ..... No Questions Asked, just slip back into mail - he refunds 100% of purchase and offers free shipping and apparently does not deduct for shipping to you to inspect ..... But then look at his wares .... Only thing attracting any action is the lot of what looks to be original Liberty Seated quarters and they look to have issues .... Yep, somethings up but not sure what's up with the Walking Liberty, weird!
