I got this coin as change after picking up a 6 pack last nite at the local stop and rob{sorry, full disclosure is how I roll}. Drank the 6 while searching pennies and decided to clear my pocket before hitting the sack. Wasn't sure if the 6 was affecting me so I decided to wait until today to look at it again. Hmmm. Did I finally hit on something. Went lowest light possible to make sure it wasn't reflection.

I feel a bit foolish having to ask. Am I looking at a quarter with incused devices or something else? Thanks, Doug.

Looks like one of the ATB Quarters with the incuse devices that is suffering from machine damage on those devices. On incuse devices the die movement creates enlarged devices, but it is not hub doubling. It is another form of Machine Doubling. It happens on a large percentage of these. In a roll I've started it is about 40% of that roll that are what I've found from examples I've come across. They are not a doubled die. Normal die with exaggerated incuse devices.

Sorry! I forgot to say what it was. Yes coop it is an ATB and now looking at it with the naked eye they are incuse. Man oh man. Does anybody know if there really is anything real out there anymore or are we hunters just spitting into a hurricane?

Jasper - Thanks, from Halo! The pooch (APBT) is Halo! He helps me on our walks with coin and currency finds.

Mark - The last hurricane Halo lapped up the spit and kept turning over rocks, because you never know what's hiding underneath the next one. Thanks, Doug.
