ANACS didn't mention it, no other poster has mentioned it in this thread, but these pictures to my eye at least, suggest this coin may have been lightly polished at some time in the past.

In this regard, the lighting and the fact that the coin has been pictured under plastic, seems to hide obvious evidence of wear and very small surface marks on the coin.

If it has been cleaned, then ANACS should not have certified it as AU53.

Yes, I was hoping for MS63,but, would have been happy if they would have considered it a AU58/MS60 slider..I think it may go to PCGS for regrade..I need to review their site,but hope I could pay them to take a look,and reslab only if it goes up?

I remember reading that NGC and PCGS will only accept slabbed coins from each other. Of course my memory could be wrong, so check anyway. Plus, if that is their policy, then how did they reslab the IGC Goodacre Presentation Sacagawea $'s? Personally, I'd break it out and submit it. I wouldn't want the low grade to bias the grader.
