I notice on the reverse of these coins there is sometimes a die crack or missing chip (Don't know the correct term) near the bird's wing. Here are two with slightly different shapes in the error. Is this a common occurrence on this coin? Does it add any value? Thanks for the feedback.

Here is a clash overlay:

It doesn't look like a clash issue. I feel it maybe a chip on the die that removed part of the surface. (in a thin layer) Different than other chips which are close to the devices.

Is the area between the chip and the line raised above the field?

Thanks all. Pete, the area of the coin seems to be lower like a thin layer peeled off, kinda like paint chipping off the wall. Is there a technical term for this? If not, I think a "chip out" or "chip off" would be a good term. Do you think it adds a premium? Thanks.

Since it is lower, the only die issue I can think of would be a struck through. The edge being so smooth is what puzzles me. I do not really know anything about the cladding process, but I wonder if it is subject to something like delamination?

Thanks Tweak and Pete. The die chip on your coin Tweak is in the same spot, the difference being it raised not lowered. I do not know much of the cladding process either Pete. Maybe it's a combination of the two things?

If your chip is actually lower than the field of the coin it is only because the die had chip and retained the chip. It had not fallen off yet.
