An attractive coin with Lathe lines over the date.
Here is a link to a site that lists and explains them.

I am hesitant to call them lathe lines, as the lines are faint and only present on one area. In addition, the examples mentioned on errorvariety.com were all on much newer coins, leading me to assume that it is unlikely that a die from 1923 displaying lathe lines would have gone this long without discovery. Anyway, I'm sure the hubbing process was different then. However, I'll let the experts decide for sure.
I personally think it may just be a remnant of the fingerprint that covers so much of the reverse.
Nice coin!

This is actually the second 1923 with lathe lines I have seen. The first had an asking price of more than I wanted to pay and the lines were actually on the Liberty side of the coin. I sent a link to the images of that first coin to the author/atributor of the error site I have listed above and he felt in all likelihood it was a lathe lined die and would keep an eye out for other coins. While the coin I have posted here is from a different die and has yet to be attributed it has the same "look" as the first first coin I mentioned.
I just received this coin today and sent a message to the atributor so he can look at the images.
It is definitely not a print on the obverse and it has been established that 1923 could hold undiscovered lathe lined varieties.
Rest in Peace

Interesting. Lathe lines. Never heard of them. One more thing to keep an eye out for while hunting.

I'm leaning towards not lathe lines. Note the lines over the 3 area. They are at a different angle. Seem like they should be closer also if they were lathe lines?

Even when the die wears they seem to remain uniform:

Coop , here is a link to the coin Jason felt was likely a lathe lined die.

I was hesitant at first to call them lathe lines too, but I just assumed it was a little later in the early part of the lathe lines appearance on the die.
