Hi

just wondering how everybody stores their coins? I am not talking about coins in coin flips, that is easy they are stored in folders.
I am more talking about coins in capsules and sets.
For the moment I use shoe boxes but am looking for a better way.

Thxs

Patrick

I keep the proof sets in zip lock bags in a drawer. I don't have a lot of them.

I think I would like to get a locking file cabinet. It's not great protection but better than a dresser drawer.

I put all of my proof sets and coins in OGP in my safe and they stack up nicely. For the coins in those little round capsules, I just throw them loosely in a box.

Most of mine are in flips or 2x2s, with a few slabbed ones and a couple of albums. I just keep most of the coins in my safe, along with some documents and some old books I inherited (David Hume's The History of England, this edition was printed in 1763). At some point I plan on getting one of those cardboard things that holds 2x2s, since they are currently scattered on the bottom of the safe.

For all 2x2's that arent in albums I have those 12" plastic rectangular storage bins. I picked up some small plastic(with lids) conatiners about 5" deep that perfectly fit about oh 6 to 8 proof sets each-i also use those containers for all my coin tubes too keeps them tidy tho ive seen guys on this forum with some very creative setups for these. Also a small safe for some coins and in the hunt for a larger one that can be anchored to the floor joists(think thats the route I'm going anyway)

It depends.
I'm storing my circulated euro collection in an album and my UNC Euro CC's in capsules in a box made for that purpose. I store my silver coins in square capsules in a box designed to hold them ... US coins I keep in 2x2's until something better comes along. Then there's a lot of zip-bags with coins I hold on to for some reason or another. I't a system that works for me, but it could look somewhat confusing :)

Everything of value is in my safe whether it be albums, coins/product in OGP, or loose bullion.
