Just need your advice on grading this 1879 S with these marks near nose and ear.
Do you think this coin could be graded or it will only be a detail/damaged coin?

If you think it could be graded, what you think about the grade?

Thanks

I think it should grade as these would be considered bag marks in my opinion. It appears to be lightly circulated so maybe AU55. I have to ask if it's a rev 78?

It looks mid AU as well...those are bag marks from other coins clinging and rubbing together

When the edge of another coin hits the surface of another coin, with two such incidents showing here, they are often called railroad tracks, because of their appearance.

AU-55, not a details grade as bag marks are acceptable.

I don't think that this one will get a details grade, but they will knock the grade down a few points because of the placement of those marks.
