Hi again everyone. Sorting through my dad's coin hoard he gave me. I got over 100 of these little 5 cent newfoundland coins.
I decided to break them down to bad, good, and very good and I am showing you one of each in hopes of getting a somewhat close grade for the piles. I'm learning a lot... but newfoundland coins are so hard. I can't find a place online that specifically helps with grading them.
Here they go. One of each. Thanks so much everyone...

Melissa

The worst one I have.

Again, thank you so much for the help.
Can anyone tell me what to look for when grading Newfoundland coins? How do I tell the difference between good to VG ... or VG to Fine when it comes to these coins. I'm asking because I have a hoard here... probably 300+ Newfoundland 1 cent to 50 cent coins.

start here http://coinsandcanada.com/coins-prices-nfld.php and separate anything key date or rare variety

this: http://www.calgarycoin.com/modern/canada.htm will give you rough description of grade attributes.

post anything that looks like it has sharp details, lots of people here will help out. if it hasn't been mentioned before, do NOT clean anything.
