Band worn too much for mint state, the 5 on the reverse looks dinged up to me, EF-40

These are tough, especially via photographs through plastic, but I'm in the AU50 camp.

Ive had this for a few years now and I think I'm going to send it back for resubmission. It's hard to see from the pictures but this coin is very lustrous. It is a 55 in my opinion.
Il post it back up here when it comes back to me.
Well, time to get the scissors! ( I always feel so guilty doing this)

Looks accurately graded to me too, if grading it under traditional grading standards. But, ICCS (and I presume other TPGs as well) tend to exercise added discretion from their conventional grading standards when it comes to the early nickle issues of KG-V & KG-VI. It looks like this coin is in an old ICCS holder too, which could indicate a more conservative grade than what a re-submission of the same coin would fetch today. So if there is strong mint lustre and few contact marks (which I can't tell from the photos), then I'd definitely resubmit it. Worst case: it'll come back graded the same.

That top photo shows a ton of pebbly effect across the whole coin and I get it now...It's the clear pebbly plastic reflecting back at us and it's not in the coin.

The old embossed certs(yours here) carry a lot more weight when compared to the new X grades from ICCS..
I take these new x grades with a grain of salt..
