Need the hive's opinion on the pics. I've discovered that shooting through plastic is darn difficult!! Camera is a Nikon Coolpix P510. Original pics of 3456x3456 had to be scaled down to 640x480 in order for pic to fit properly into my Collectibles Insurance database pics box. Lighting was reflected off the ceiling with 2 lamps at 10 and 2, diffused 5500k CFLs. Then I tweaked the best I could with Corel Paintshop Pro X4. Don't know how to get the EXIF info here. Any info or recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Your photos look much better than mine. Does the plastic make the coin appear cloudy? That seems to be common on all the cello sets that I've imaged. Below is one of my proof set pics for comparison...

Good job. I usually resort to shooting each coin individually in addition to the whole set.

you are doing a great job. nice coins, what I am learning is if we try to soften the light to much. it cost us contrast. see the jansjo leds are considered hard light. if one could find the right diffusion. I have learned that no matter the environment. the little led balanced with diffusion. you will have a balanced light and contrast. you are doing a great job I like your images.

andywoj00 you did a good job on your photo of the set. I did one using focus stacking. 6 images of a 1988 set. this is not easy. I have a stage coming that will help with this. I did this by hand manually. just pushing the set ahead here my image

How do you position your lighting to minimize glare?

andy I keep the same setup as you lights at 10 and 2. two jansjo lamps. I wanted to get some diffusion cloth. the lady that worked at the fabric store. happen to be a retired professional photographer. she asked me what I wanted the cloth for. I told her I wanted to use it for diffusing lamp lights. she sold me a cloth called broad cloth. she said this will do that. also she said this is the whites cloth there is on the market. she told me she used a lot of this over the years. also it is very cheap. it will cut the glare.

Thanks. Appreciate the feedback. I have a couple of those Jansjo lts coming . Hoping they'll improve the process. Also working on a homemade copy stand...waiting on parts. Tripod and coffee table is getting old. Have hundreds more to pic. #128551;
