Upon accessing the link above, I saw where one collector has already given the design a one-star rating. Aldalynne of Toronto finds the impending violence depicted on the coin to be very disturbing: Quote: There is no need to show the impending violence of a rabbit being caught by a wolf. Show the speed of the rabbit, or show the rabbit with its family, or in the beauty of its natural surroundings but there is no reason to show an animal running for his life in its last moments of trying to escape death. DISGUSTING! I would never buy this. I was shocked. This is how you want Canada portrayed? For goodness sake, be on the side of the underdog! I believe the action makes the coin more interesting. In fact, I went ahead and purchased one! In U.S. Dollars, the coin cost me $37.02.

Yeah, princesses don't go to washroom. Wolves don't eat rabbits in Canada, they are too polite... especially in winter.

Rabbit looks to be 4 times the size of the wolf - I'd say the wolf will have issues if he manages to catch the rabbit . . .

MTS, you're too much, . Who's to say the rabbit wont zag at the last moment, not all hunts are successful. Its a great action image. Anyone know the theme of the $50 series. The $100 is animals in motion. I had hoped it would be a boring design, its hard to keep up with these x for x series. The right hind foot looks a little off. Those toes look like something else. The left hind foot looks like proper toes.

Quote: Who's to say the rabbit wont zag at the last moment, not all hunts are successful. If you read the Mint's description of the coin, it leaves no doubt about the outcome of the chase: Quote: The hare can run like the wind—it's almost too swift to be caught by the wolf.

From what I know a Canadian wolf will apologize first before chowing down on the snowshoe hare. Another Hinterland moment.
Edit - the bunny looks fine (panicked but fine) but the dog is just plain weird looking.

What the coin doesn't depict is the hunter zeroing on the rabbit a few hundred yards away.
Turns out the rabbit was cleverly luring the wolf in the hunter's direction.
The rabbit made a sharp turn to the right and then.... woooosh came the bullet, missed the rabbit and scared the wolf away.
All went their way and ate salad for dinner.
That's the bedtime story folks.
