Found this 1940's or 46 penny but the last number is worn or missing. I think I am seeing a ghost 4 next to the first 4. It could be I just looked at to many coins.. I made marks as to what I think I see. Opinions are greatly appreciated.

It is not a 1940 because they used a taller 4 and a different mint mark style.

Looks like a 1946 to me.

I see what you mean about the ghost 4. I see a ghost y, v and L - and also a face.

Almost certainly 1946. The ghost image is interesting.

Just a common 46-S. It is common for the 46 to be very weak on the ones I've looked at. I'm not sure about the 'ghost' 4- I think it's just some sort of mark or discoloration on the coin.

I know what you mean about the 46 year. I have a bunch that are weak. I think I am just matrixing. Seeing alot of things not there and hoping they are. Thanks guys this one is going back to the bank.
