Found, Uncirculated 1955-D 1-DO-001!

Sudz Pillar of the Community United States 1572 Posts	Posted 02/04/2016 7:00 pm Just found this tonight. It is a beautiful example of a 1955-D 1DO-001/WDDO-001 LWC with great doubling on the eyes, 19 of the date, and the lapel. Although neither Coppercoins or doubleddies.com mention it, this coin seems to have hub doubling under the nose down to, and including, the lips. Also, doubleddies.com mentions a doubling of the lower ear which this has, but there appears to be some doubling at the top right (easterly) of the ear. Just in a bunch of coins I've had for a long time. I've lately been looking through all the coins and coin books I've had since I was a kid (circa 1960's). Yesterday I found a 1945- Micro S Mercury dime and the day before I found a 1931-S Buffalo nickel in very nice condition. I have no idea where or when I collected them. It's a lot of fun.
