Old White Holder ANACS slab for this 1880 Indian Head cent. Really, really nice coin in hand. How would you grade it? ANACS must have been doing some good quality plastics, this slab looks pristine compared to some newer NGC/PCGS slabs I've got that already look like someone tried to claw them to death. That is a nice coin. I can see a case for XF40, hope it got there!

Bad obverse photo, I'm sure it pulled up to XF-45/AU-50.

I'd be right on the 40 grade. Nice even color, decent strike.

VF-35 overall, reverse is a strong EF.

Yes, reverse is very nice, but obverse must rule here. VF-35 tops.

One cannot fool the mighty CCF! Coin is a borderline VF-XF, I think ANACS went towards XF, but I can see a VF as well. Has good surfaces and color, though, so I'm happy with it. Nice looking IHC for not a lot of money.
