I sent some coins in for grading to ANACS at the MSNS show. Until now, I have had no slabbed coins. I did this because I figured it to be a bit cheaper with only one way shipping, the total for 11 coins with variety designation ( I didn't pay for attribution ) and shipping was 142 Dollars which I thought was reasonable.
I searched through a bunch of Special Mint Sets to find some cameos to get graded, this was the only Kennedy half I could find in the bunch that was cameo, and I noticed it was a Doubled Die Reverse so I sent it with the others. The squiggly mark on the neck is a strike through, do you think it detracts from the coin ? Do you think it should detract from the grade ? Grading pictures posted, slab picture as link for those who don't like to wait I know the picture of the star from the reverse is lousy, but you can just see the splits on the points and this is the best I could get of it...always working on the photog skills...
Thanks Amac. This would not have been my fist pick for a cameo half, but the reverse doubling made it so. I knew it would not grade that high for am SMS coin, even with the cameo, but the others I picked graded better. I will post those as soon as I get some decent pics. I figured the obverse strike through would hold it back alot since it is so noticeable, there are also four small struck through areas in the obv fields that are not visible in the pics.
