Hello MeadowviewCollector. Well...I am embarrassed to be reaching out again. I figured that my trying to upload in the quick reply box was the problem and immediately went to the "Reply to Post" box and found the camera. Found my photos and did the upload. No luck. Did the crop in case I was oversize and came in well under the limit and still no luck. I am working with this Apple computer that, believe me, buying this thing was the worst tech decision I have made in my entire life. I have these photos in a folder in the computer. I do not know if that is the problem. Anyway until I can justify buying a windows unit I am stuck with this. Any help you can give me or any Apple users care to chime in would be great. Thanks Again.

Did you get the "Congratulations! File Successfully Uploaded" pop up window?

If it was successfully uploaded to the site but the link doesn't show up:

click the upload image link
then click on "My Previously Uploaded Files"

If this doesn't help, you might post a thread in the Support forum http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/...?FORUM_ID=20

If that doesn't work, I can message you my email and you can send them to me and I'll take a crack at uploading them.
Thanks again to both of you!

I got a call today from a fellow collector and he mentioned this thread. Rich and I talk all the time about Naticks and Gilberts, and I've facilitated deals that included Gilbert notes and the historic pamphlets that accompanied many of Gilbert notes. I worked with Fred Reed, and he helped me with editing, and published my article about Gilbert notes in Paper Money Magazine. I was working on a follow-up article when Fred had to step down because of illness. I have also talked with Darlene Robinson, a former employee at Gilbert Paper Company, and part of the Gilbert team that traveled to the BEP to proudly oversee the production of United States paper currency from Gilbert Paper Company security paper. I have obtained copies (over 50 pages) of the original correspondence between the BEP and the Gilbert Paper Company along with the original contract. I also have 7 pages of handwritten records kept by employees of the Gilbert Paper Company. These handwritten records show the dates, serial numbers, and Gilbert officials being given "sample" Gilbert notes as an advertising tool.

One day I will write a follow-up article with all the additional information.

BTW, my friend Rich has a series 1977A $1 Natick STAR.

Sample 3X5 handout card used by the Gilbert sales force. These were given to existing and prospective customers along with a Gilbert paper one dollar bill.

I don't know why but this thread made me purchase a star barr note.. LOL probably because of 1963... But it is a very interesting story and definitely will keep my eye out in the future., seems to be a tough find.

These pamphlets included a 1963 FRN $1 C-A block note printed on Gilbert Paper Company security paper.
One was given to employees and one to the Mead directors. Mead bought Gilbert Paper Company.

The pamphlets themselves were made from security paper. The Gilbert Paper Company made security paper for several bank note companies and countries.

Image of ledger card from the BEP showing signatures, serial numbers, and delivery dates for the series 1963 $1 FRN's. The bottom remark denotes the use of Gilbert security paper for 640,000 notes with the delivery date.

Very Interesting....

My goal is/was to locate overprint on back errors printed on series 1963 to date FRN's classified as experiemental notes..

Sure would like to know if any confirmed error notes were printed on the Gilbert paper Run..

As I reply to this, I am waiting for my previously PMG graded Natick and 2 Web Press overprint on back notes to arrive in a 3-Note Holder...

Years of searching, I only show 14 Confirmed serials from the 18 (Right 1/2) sheet span (sheets #19660 to #19677 of the 40K Run) of Overprint on back errors.. Still awaiting confirmation, are notes from Sheets #19663,19664,19667,19669,19671,19673 and #19674 of the Natick E-H Block..

it is quite possible that notes from "unconfirmed" sheets were not printed in error, thus reducing the number of available errors..

While many more Natick Errors should surface, only 5 overprint on back Web Notes have been confirmed for each Right half of Sheet #73561 (A-F Block) and Sheet #94025 (G-P Block), both series 1988A..

I find it interesting that 4 of the 5 A-F Block are from the 3rd quadrant, and 1 from the 4th quadrant, and all 5 G-P Block errors are from the 3rd quadrant.,
(Treasury may have removed all 4th quadrant errors if in their possesion when error was discovered.)

Unlike other Census Takers, I have printed serial number charts showing serial numbers awaiting confirmation..

Good Luck in your Survey of Gilbert & Natick Notes..

My Late Brother-in-Law was Plant Supervisor at Natick Paper Mill, and I didn't learn of Natick Errors until after his passing...

Hey SteveInTampa Welcome. Do you mean the $10 1977 Natick star? I am not aware of a $1 Natick star. Thanks

@notehunter494

The reported Natick Star serial number FRN's are;

$1.00 - E07052001* to E07680000*
$10.00 - E05772001* to E06400000*

Correction on my above post - - - The Web overprint A-F Block is sheet #173561 of the 200,000 sheet run..
