I've been crh'ing but I've heard (& read) about purchasing bags of cents.

Where can I purchase these said bags of cents?

Look for a bank that has a coin machine and see if you can buy from them.

My daughter works at Publix and I'm able to buy bags from their machine at face. I usually end up with a tiny built-in profit on each bag, since every bag of 5,000 cents contains at least $1.00 in dimes (and I've had as much as $3.60 in dimes).

My dump bank has a coin machine. There is another branch across town. I'll call them and see if I can buy from them. And I'll call my local grocery stores to see if I can be as lucky as you mahgobbi!

One of my local coin dealers has bags of cents that I can purchase but I don't want to purchase bags from someone who has already gone through them. They said that they haven't looked through them bc it isn't worth their time to go & look. But somehow I think that they probably did at least one look see through.
Of course they told me there I wouldn't find any good/valuable cents in crh'ing but that has proved wrong!

Thanks everyone!

The busier the LCS the better the chance that they sell bags of cents that haven't been searched by them.

Very few banks around here have coin machines.
They just accumulate coin until they have enough bagged up to ship out. I just ask them to sell me a bag.

Most banks once they have a full bag of coins from a coin counter send them out to the fed to be re-rolled and re-distributed to banks/businesses. Recently I've been buying cent bags off the counter at the bank I dump my halves. If you know of a bank that has a coin counter ask them if they will sell bags of coins from the counter, some will and some won't. I've got a good relationship with the bank I get my cents from, not only do they sell me bags of cents, but they order me $2000 of halves a week, take about $3000 in dumped halves, and never complain. I take the tellers something such as a pound of chocolates every few months to show my appreciation for their extra effort. A few months ago the head teller told me how disappointed she was about finding a Buffalo nickel at the bank and misplacing it before she got it home. A couple weeks later I took her a nice common date Buffalo nickel. Little things such as this seem to go a long way toward tellers trying to make you happy. If you find a bank that will work with you be sure to take care of your tellers.
