Sorry but it appears to be a closed AM.

Yeah, can you post a close-up of the initials? That's an odd cent. It looks too wide to be a close, but not wide enough to be a wide. I think it's Close AM.

I thought that there was no space between the A & M in a Close AM?

And yes I will take pics now of the FG.

On dies that have been over polished it increases the space between the A and the M. On a Wide AM the M will be perfectly centered between the A and the E. This is a Close AM even without seeing the designers initials.

When I'm searching for this variety, I never even look at the AM. I only look at the designer's initials. It's a MUCH easier marker.

I agree with the others; CAM not WAM. It would have been nice to see though.

I own 4 Wide AM's. Two 1998's & two 2000's.

I was really hoping this wasn't my imagination! Oh well. I'll keep looking!

Thanks.

My thoughts exactly. It wasn't close enough to be a close and it wasn't exactly wide enough either. My other Wide AM's are much wider.

A girl can dream, can't she?!

Absolutely. I would actually keep this one for reference. This is what it looks like when a die has been over polished.

The initials are the dead giveaway. The close initials will just jump out at you when you see them. If you see the close initials, you know you have the Wide AM.

Didn't see no mention of the A in STATES, which is another indicator or marker in concerns to WAM and CAM.

If the base of the A is centered between the T's will be a WAM candidate. If the A is off center closer to the right T will be a CAM candidate. Thanks, Doug.

They should be centered. It is a Close AM.
