1960 D Small Vs Large Date - Coin Community Forum

I've been looking at these two for an hour trying to determine if one is a small date and one is a large date I've decided that this is the case. However, I'd like the expertise of the hive to confirm. I say the first pic is the small and the second pic is the large. Thoughts? Thanks in advance. Report this Post to the Staff

Numisma Pillar of the Community United States 4963 Posts	Posted 02/08/2016 10:45 pm I determine by the height of the 9. If the top is level with the top of the 1, it is a small date. If it is higher than the 1, it is a large date. However, I don't usually bother with 60-Ds. Report this Post to the Staff

T-BOP Rest in Peace United States 18456 Posts	Posted 02/09/2016 08:53 am The way I tell the difference is on the small date the 0 in date has a smaller inside diameter than the 0 on the large date. this never failed me. Report this Post to the Staff
