Here's a coin I found today at my local dealer. While I'm not very familiar with proof Lincolns, I thought the thick/thin of the numerals was a bit different than I've seen on business strikes of the same year. Just a normal proof cent?

Lincoln-74-S-Proof--Normal-Date?

But perhaps this is just due to lighting? This was the closest I could get my lighting to the lens axis.

Pulled mine out and compared, Kurt, and it seems the same.

On the business strike coins a different hub was used on the large and small dates reverses. The large date has a double line on the pedestal below the feet. On the small date the reverse is very mushy on the statue. What do you guys find on the statue. I've never had a 1974-S Proof Cent before to compare.

Thanks for the info! On my 74-S, the pedestal is very indistinct. I just barely see the vertical lines, and nothing horizontal. Judging by the markers listed over at the Cent Project, I think this one is a large date because the ends of the 9 and 7 are rounded--but that's rather confusing given that the pedestal is indistinct.
