Ok I have been slowly building a NGC Jefferson Proof Ultra 69 Cameo set. Now I still need a few, 1965-1976 so I was shopping on ebay for a NGC 1976-s PF69 UC and they range 80-100 And PCGS 1976PF Deep Cameo I can buy 1 for $7.95 shipped. What gives with that, why such a big difference, and I thought PCGS was a tougher grading company... im confused.. Edited by rickynic 02/12/2016 2:56 pm

The PCGS was probably not PF-69 And not ultra deep cameo as the NGC.

The PCGS PR69DCAM coin could be a typo as well. Personally I would choose a coin graded by PCGS at the same grade of coin by NGC if I didn't have the opportunity to see them "in hand".

Yeah, not sure why that is. Let's see where the current NGC auction goes. Currently at $2.25. I've done a bit of research the past couple of years, and I've noticed things like this a few times. Might have something to do with the populations for each company, or maybe the grading standards are more strict on a particular coin. Most think PCGS is generally the best, but I've seen anomalies like this before where NGC will command much higher prices for a particular coin.

If you get to enough shows and look at enough TPG it starts to look like NGC and PCGS have different attitudes about different grading standards within series. PCGS loves monster toned Morgan's, NGC, not so much. NGC loves seated in all denominations and is much more tolerant of possible cleaning. PCGS loves gold almost a full point across the board. NGC is definitely tougher on the 'common' gold. This may be such an anomaly.

I usually try to stay with NGC coins but I do have many PCGS coins also. I will say I usually find the PCGS coins are cheaper than the NGC coins and I haven't figured that one out yet.
