Is this a legitimate error, or an alteration?

I like this question at the bottom of the listing...

Quote:
Q: has to be 1881 type one or 71 or 61
A: Thx for the info, thought it could possibly be 1801? Not real up to date on coins although I have sold several

Uhhhh no, only one date it can be.

He's sold several of these. I'm wondering if that was after he won 8 lotteries.

It's an 1891 due to the last feather's position.

Is this a legitimate error? No it's an intentional error made to play an illegitimate game of "fool the guesser" and collect $79. For $6 you can get a damaged 1891 BIN in VF with all its numerals.
