Unc details (damage) The reverse is rather nice but the obverse looks like a road kill coin.

I agree with trout, but it would command a less than MS60 price, due to the numerous nicks and small dents on the obverse. The reverse looks to be about MS63 with excellent fields, but there are a few minor dents on the lettering.

Lucky I took a chance and sent it to PCGS because it graded MS61.It may look like a disappointing coin but it's still uncirculated

Trout is possibly better than PCGS with the grading of Australian coins.

Well done! More often than not its worth taking the PCGS gamble and this is a great example.

PCGS got the grading right, MS61 is for coins that are technically unc but have lots of bag marks etc and frankly a decent AU55 has better eye appeal. The reverse shows that it is uncirculated and the obverse is , not a coin that I would take a punt on as it could easily have not made MS. Stevos image shows the warts better than the PCGS image. Stevo, what did the crown set you back as a raw punt when you purchased it?

The reason I called this one Unc details( damage) is because the reverse is unmarked but the reverse is very badly marked up. There is NO way a coin could be bagged up this badly but only on one side of the coin, Usually the "Bagging" effects both sides of a coin. As only one side of the coin marked up it is far more likely the coin was damaged and not simply bagged up.
