Just a little food for thought for the day.

Growing up in New York my next door neighbor's dad worked at the mint making and working on almost only with lincoln cents.

Lincoln Cents with no mint mark not made in Philadelphia, Denver or San Francisco.

Yes that's right from 1974 through 1986, the West Point Mint produced Lincoln cents bearing no mint mark, making them indistinguishable from those produced at the Philadelphia Mint.

Not hands full of them but loads on them.

The first zinc-based Lincoln cents were made at the West Point Mint early January in 1982. They were also made in San Francisco also.

Again just food for thought..

From 1965-1967 the West Point mint also struck coins as well without the mint mark like the other three mints did without mint marks. (To catch up with demand because of the silver being pulled from circulation)
Rest in Peace

It would be a fantastic feat to find some unique die markers that conclusively proved a West Point mintage.

West Point didn't start coining cents till 1975.

Source? I have nothing on West point striking coins for circulation before 1975, and the only thing I can find of them striking coins other than cents for circulation is quarters from 1976 to 1979. (and 1 centavos for Panama) From what I can find coining presses were not installed at West Point until Nov of 1974.

The figures were from a web site with production numbers from those years. I'm at hospital with my wife now. So I don't have Access now.

I guess I was incorrect on this. The figures I has were the mint figures from all 3 mints not 4. The site mentioned the only years that the Cents were struck there, but not during the 1965-1967 era.
