Hey guys I'm trying to decide between these 2 Morgans, which would you pick? both are the same grade....#1 is $20 cheaper!

well just to throw this out there John1 and Imthealphaomega my personal preference is

#1 this is because she has a clean face ......her neck has that scuff then there's that line under the U above her head but thats it

#2 has a dot on her cheek a mark under her ear another below at her jaw then the scuff on her neck....maybe something in front of her nose also.

But I want to hear more of your preferences out there!

so far 2 for #2!

Is the 1881 a New Orleans strike....if so go with that instead cause 1881 O are pricey In high mint state...,but if it is 1881S then stick with the 1885. Really nice 1881S coins are very common due to high mintage and superb strikes....hence you may get the most value out of the 1885 than a very common 1881S. That's my reasoning. I cannot tell if the 1881 is a New Orleans or San Francisco strike.

I think we are picking the 85 because those pics are clearer and sharper than the 81 .
If you can take better non glare photos , might help .

Pure and simple...the 1885 simply because it has Lots of Luster and looks better to the eye!

I just can't tell with those photos, sorry. Both look to be beautiful coins but the glare and luster could be hiding anything that can't be detected by the photos.

Tough call with those pics, they both look really nice for sure.
