I've got a Gold Histamenon of this Emperor:
Constantine-X-Ducas
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/201526044....m1555.l2649
It has some ancient graffiti in the reverse borders, one of which appears to be Arabic. Hardly surprising when this type of coin was traded around the region beyond the frontiers of the Empire, regardless of the Iconography used.

Echizento's coin appears to have been overstruck on a Class D anonymous follis, rotated at nearly 90 degrees; the "ladder" behind Christ is the remnant of the lower "BASIL".

It almost looked like it might of been a counter mark especially how a portion of the nimbus was cut off in a straight line. But as it was pointed out on another board, if it was his elbow would have also been lost but it remains. It appears that the strike wasn't hard enough to remove the remains of the older coin. I find these over stuck coins interesting because in a sense if you can Identify the older coin as in this case you get two coins for the price of one.
