While searching a bank bag of Quarters I came across this Quarter, Thought at first sight it was a silver then it was a Michigan 2004-P with no copper visible anywhere, I have looked at it many times with different viewers and can not see any other metals in it, Thought it might be plated at first but, after viewing many times that is not the case. Any thoughts about this coin? No Silver 2004-P Quarters were produced.

I found a Tennessee one just like this last year in a roll of quarters. Thought I had found silver. Then saw it was a state, looked it up, posted it here and got the same result. Nifty to hang onto, not worth more than a quarter. PMD Essentially.

Yup, plated. The only reasonable possibility.

Plated. Probably freed from an (overpriced) home shopping "collector" set.

Still a fun find in my opinion.

I was told mine wasn't worth anything. Kept it anyways. Somebody paid a premium on it once, and it wasn't me. :)

I suspect it is moset likely plated. To make sure, just weight it and a silver quarter is heavier than a regular one

The last P-mint proofs (excluding commems) were struck in 1964. Since 1968 they have all been produced at San Francisco.

I think these are actually plated with rhodium. Someone on the WG forums had Delaware and Pennsylvania quarters with silver edges that were also plated with rhodium. The rhodium helps keep the quarters shiny.
