I am new to the VAM searching scene and I need a little help identifying if there is a VAM on this coin or not.

There is a strike mark on the reverse but cant find this mark on the 1884-o list on VAM world

I hope pics are good enough. let me know if you need better or more pics...will see what I can do.

Pic of strike on reverse in different light. This is definitely a raised mark on coin not a scratch.

My first guess might be VAM-10. How does the first star right of "DOLLAR" compare? The difference in the doubled "O" may be due to light strike or die wear. Keep us posted.

ok thanks guys. Does VAM-10 add any value being a "Hot 50" VAM?

I reread the qualifications for VAM-10 and noticed there is supposed to be a doubling in the ear. To the untrained eye this ear look normal. Can someone point out the doubling in it? Thanks

I think the strike is just flat enough to obscure the doubled ear detail.

The marking at the right star on the reverse is in the working die. We had a brief discussion of this not too long ago on VW and the '84-O VAM-10 was mentioned: http://www.vamworld.com/share/view/77204685

Thanks for the link. Was wondering about the strike mark on the reverse between wing and wreath. Have this mark on another 1884-o. Have seen VAMS with similar marks on other years. Is it such a common mark there is no VAM for it for this year?

The mark you are referring to is a die clash mark, which is very common in most dates. Usually if the dies were still paired with their "clash mate" there will be corresponding clash marks on each die.
