Right spirit and nice coin. Hopefully the children will appreciate it enough to expand it and pass it along to the grandchildren...once they know not to spend it.

very nice find! be careful of your staples though; some of those look pretty snaggle toothed and might scratch the coin in front of or behind it in a stack. you could flatten them with a pair pliers. might save some tears down the road

Thats a fantastic War Nickel! I've found around half a dozen through rolls and loose change and they always looked black, worn, and putrid... Quote: very nice find! be careful of your staples though; some of those look pretty snaggle toothed and might scratch the coin in front of or behind it in a stack. you could flatten them with a pair pliers. might save some tears down the road Amen to this advice, though I've got a warning of my own as well. Its only happened once in the hundreds of coins I've stapled into coin flips, but I accidentally gouged the edge of a worn 1893 Columbus exposition half dollar with a staple after getting the stapler a wee bit too close. I'm glad that one wasn't worth much to begin with because I cringed real hard alone at the fact that I damaged one of the few uncleaned 1893 halves I could finally get my hands on. Lesson from me: keep the staples FAR from the coins edges! It's better to just risk letting your favorite coins have some extra wiggle room
