Hello!

I received an Upper Canada half penny with mirrored 2 counterstamp.
Do you have any idea what does such counterstamp mean?

Thank you in advance for every opinion.

it is strange that the stamp is reversed, but a lot strange things can happen over 150+ years!
it likely has no meaning or reason that would give it any added value.

weren't these coins marked when the Government was actively attempting to demonetize them?

Maybe this is the reason for the counterpunch?
