That does look different. But it seems that the tails of the 199 would be affected? It is in the direction of the die flow. First time I've seen that.

You did it John. You stumped the professor. I had the same thoughts as Coop but if I had to guess I'd say yes. Very interesting either way.

Thanks all. It most likely is not a trail because they are too thick and only on the 4. My second thought was worn die but the "flow" doesn't look right to me sooo...
Stump The Professor sounds like a neat idea for a thread.

Hmmmm...that could be an interesting thread. But how to keep it from getting cluttered up with "junk mail"? Maybe a sticky note and a dedicated forum controlled by moderators? A read only for members but writable by the experts (perhaps a new designated title). I don't know.

Interested to find out what this is though.

I would diagnose it as a case of trails. I can't think of anything else it could be.
