Is it ok to ask your recommendation regarding getting a high grade coin graded and slabbed? NGC...PCGS? I'm brand new to this and have one that some say is 64...maybe 64 plus...maybe proof...I want to get it graded...your recommendations would be greatly appreciated

Has the coin been cleaned?
If you are a new submitter you should send coins in bulk to save money. Not one at a time.

Your coin is a beauty ..... Many say PCGS is the way to go. I use NGC. You can submit by yourself IF you are a member of PCGS or NGC or you may have someone else submit it for you. Yes - I do agree that you will save $ if you have multiple quality coins to submit and you submit them at the same time. .... Good luck and welcome to the forum. I look forward to seeing some of your other coins.

p.s. Submission for grading is generally $20-30 per coin plus postage and insurance. If submitted for you by another party there may be an additional small fee.
Rest in Peace

Your barber is a beauty, although I'm not certain of it having been dipped, or not. That is probably only certain with the coin in hand.

If you have a Local Coin Shop near you, see if they submit coins to NGC or PCGS. If they do and they are anywhere near ready to put a shipment in the mail, it will be much cheaper to do it that way, even if they charge you a small fee.

Both PCGS and NGC charge a invoice fee and a transfer and insurance fee so that a single coin may cost you close to $60 to send in all by itself.

Plus, a local shop will be able to give you an opinion on cleaned or not cleaned.

It's worth the gamble on that coin to send it to NGC all by itself, but you might find a slightly less expensive way to submit, other than a single coin. $30 (over $300)+$21+8 = $59 for that coin by itself to NGC, I believe.

Or you can send it to me and all your troubles about it will be over

You may also have a local coin show where PCGS or NGC (or ANACS or ICG if those are your pleasure) will accept submissions.

But either way, the shipping, etc. on one coin makes it pricy. You also can't use the cheapest tier (those have 5 coin minimums).
