I held a giveaway contest and the winner is not replying. It has been nearly 2 weeks. I'm looking for opinions on what to do with the prize. I'll give the winner another week to claim the win, if he doesn't by then, what should I do?
I enjoy and appreciate this community very much, so I would love to honor my word of sending out a prize. Wife says give it to whoever was 2nd closest. Opinions please. Help!

Quote: do what your wife said I'm quite sure that this is the best advice you will ever give or receive on CCF. Seriously though, I might give him a little more time--another week or so. He joined over a year ago and has more than 250 posts. Maybe he's just on vacation?

I think most of us go "off the charts" on occasion. I'd agree with waiting three weeks, another PM, then to the second place as good advise.

I guess that there is a lesson here:
The contest should state the rules about claiming the prize.
Of course it is too late for this contest, but if I ever have a contest, I will remember this.
Also we need to consider that the winner may be in a country where the postal system is shaky.

I think two very valuable lessons were learned here.
First: patience is a wise action
Second: always listen to "she who must be obeyed"
