Yesterday I won a Heritage auction for a 2000-P Cheerios dollar. It's graded MS68 by NGC and is easily the most expensive coin in my collection. Now I'll actually be able to complete the series! I looked through Heritage's auction results and can't find a MS68 that sold for less, so I feel pretty good that I got a fair deal. I still have to send off the payment, so it will be a couple of weeks before I have it in my hands.

You would think NGC would have had a label notation, a nice coin for sure a better than a bowl of cherrios!

Congrats! I doubt I will ever own one, unless I happen across one in circulation.
Do you also have the Goodacre dollar?

Quote: You would think NGC would have had a label notation, a nice coin for sure a better than a bowl of cherrios! I think that's up to the person who sends it in to pay extra for the special label. I've seen special Sacagawea labels and "Top 100 Greatest US Modern Coins" labels. I would have certainly spent a bit extra for the special Sacagawea label assuming they existed at the time. Quote: Do you also have the Goodacre dollar? Yes. It's in the original IGC holder and is autographed by Glenna Goodacre. One thing that I'm finding is that the hardest Sacagawea dollars to find are high grade uncirculated business strikes from the 2005 through 2010 time period. The satin ones from the mint set during the same time period are easy, but most of the business strikes I've found for sale at shows are scratched and dinged like crazy.

Are you going to set it next to your headboard for the first few nights? What a beauty.

Congrats.
I always hope to find one in a roll or from a tellers tray as I am sure the majority of them made their way into circulation.

Thanks guys. Quote: I always hope to find one in a roll or from a tellers tray as I am sure the majority of them made their way into circulation. Yep. The odd thing about this particular coin is that the population available for collectors is actually likely to increase over time. The reason that I went for the MS68 is that the odds of finding high grade uncirculated examples are pretty low.

I still have many coins to get. I'm a little over half through now. My goal is to get all the regular proofs in NGC PF69 holders, the uncs in airtights. It's not that I really care to have the regular proofs in slabs (I actually prefer airtights), but most can be had for so little that it makes sense to just buy the slabbed.
