I don't think I am going to go through them all... I think I am going to be the creator of the soon to be famous "Weber Nickel Hoard"... give it 50 more years and there will be a Coin World article about me...

Looks great ... I like seeing big groups of coins being added to collections.
Are you planning to search through them? Are there certain varieties your looking for.
When I get rolls like that .. at least the mint rolls, I leave them rolled.
How many coins do you think would make a good hoard?

I think a good hoard number of coins would have to be an amount that makes your wife go "seriously babe, we could pay for our vacation with the face value of those coins!" And at the same time make a collector that sees them or hears about them go "I bet you there is that one coin in there that is going to make me famous!!" Because you know we all think we are going to find a 1913 V nickel in our next roll...

I opened the roll of 68-S and I opened the roll of Bison D mint marks to see if there was anything there, but nothing awesome... I opened one more roll that was falling apart but that was about it... the rest are going to stay unsearched until the day I die... and then my great great grand children can auction them off at Stacks

I am sort of new to this - but am I missing something? The mint rolls are no mystery, right?
Thanks for the education if I got this wrong.

I look through mint rolls for errors... I like looking through OLD mint rolls for high quality BU coins or FS nickels...

Paul, there could be error coins in the roll, Yes they should all be the same year, and MM, but you never know what you might get. Maybe a blank planchet... or a clipped coin, double struck, off center strikes etc....
