I first shared this coin quite a while ago in the general forum section and got a grade estimate and all at that time.
For those not all that familiar with these many of them were minted on British Guppy halfpennies from the time period.
Since then I've been able to positively identify the host coin for this example as being a 1811 British Half Penny as photographed below.
I been looking for some time to pick one up because I thought it would be nice to have a coin like the one used to make mine.

Do you think that knowing the host coin is enough or should I try and pick up an example also?
Would this information make it more interesting and attractive to a buyer?

Cheers, Bill

that is a very nice overstrike.

my own example shows a much lesser degree of the host coin, but I still plan to obtain an original host to display beside it.

as far as making it more attractive to a buyer, I would say the photo of the host is enough, *** Edited by Staff - Please review the rules that you agreed to when you registered. ***

as a side note, these poor little guppy tokens really took a beating as they were also used for hosts to the original 1813 spread eagle tokens as well as some Wellington issues.
