Posting images of 2015 Kisatchie quarter with doubling. I have not found previous reference to one like it. Opinions please, Is it a Doubled Die, or Doubling through mechanical error please? The photos were a little difficult, in that it makes you see double and hard to focus on correctly. I can post more if needed. Thanks, Robert

MD. The letters are incuse, so they become larger with MD, not smaller as with raised letters.

Pete2226,Thanks for your response. I have to admit though, I am not following your logic. Two overlapping images of the same thing, should make ANYthing larger, whether its a hole or a hill...? Is this not right? Not trying to butt heads, just get an understanding here. Thanks, Robert

Uploading another pic, hopefully this one is easier to see. It appears to me that all of the features are doubled, even as in Coops pics, except that they are not diagonally offset.. Thanks, Robert

coop's photo compares raised devices. I thought the Kisatchie devices are incuse? That means they will be opposite coops photos. Am I wrong about the letters being incuse?

No, You are correct, the letters are "incuse" or inset, not raised. I will go look at your last posted link too..
Thanks, Robert

On incuse devices, machine damage creates larger devices. This is just the opposite of raised devices. Incuse devices actually get small on hub doubling: Still waiting for someone to find hub doubling on the ATB Quarters. They incuse devices will actually be a bit smaller. (probably hard to notice) They might even be impossible as the single squeeze dies usually affects the center portion of the die and rarely the outside edge devices.
