After seeing the video, I stand by my little opinion on this coin, another bedazzled coin.

It's not surprising that RCM has issued a Mother Earth coin to reflect environmental awareness. I like the symbolism as depicted in the video but I have to wonder if any of those other elements will ever get noticed. It seems it's about to become known as the "water droplet coin"..... Makes me wonder why a plain and simple water droplet coin wasn't issued as the first of a series instead.

Thanks for the video link. The Mother Earth coin is interesting. Some angles look ok and others not so much. The engraving and finish are terrible IMO. Without the glass/plastic bead, it would be of x for x quality at best. 7k is a lot but then again the 2011 LB was 5k and there are a lot more collectors now than there were then. Still, it's a pass for me though I wouldn't be surprised to see it become a big hit for flippers. There are plenty of eco people on the band wagon, never mind that there is very little if anything that is 'green' about producing collector coins.

I mentioned it in the reply before.... be aware that the Special Silver Silver Dollar in the new Proof Set is different to the one released earlier! Similar ship but all the rest is different! So if you are a passionate Silver Dollar Collector you will need to buy the set I'm afraid....

Yes, similar to what may as well be the $230 gold-plated TransAtlantic Cable silver dollar now goes with it a $100 painted one. Ouch.

A pass for me too. From the standpoint of RCM and flippers, what's green about it is the colour associated to making money....

the "good" thing about the Mother Earth coin is the price. Not that it's cheap but at least, the mint is not pricing it at $149.95.

Very true, we've become conditioned to think of NCLT priced less than $100 as a bargain. Perhaps RCMs production costs have substianlly increased and there's probably added costs associated to reduced mintages/more issues. But have you ever noticed how the 50% drop in silver bullion in 2011/2012 didn't result in any price drop of NCLT? Collector coin mints throughout the world must just love the flat price of their "raw material".

After seeing video - didn't like the "Water drop" coin. Piece of plastic or crystal, glued to the coin, but doesn't look great, as could be special form curve, as I thought initially.
Disappointing also Special edition SD - it shouldn't be colorized variation of previously issued SD.
50 cent roll and Maple Leave (which continue "Forever" series) - this what will be for me.

I was on the fence with the " Mother Earth", but after watching the videos, I really like it and purchased it. The "inukshuk"didn't do anything for me- plain and didn't fit in with my collection, so it was a pass.

@ Pixu....
If you wait long enough and search hard enough someone will split up the Special Edition Set and sell off the Painted Silver Dollar
That's how I got the Silver Dollar from the 2015 Special Edition Set for $40. The 2015 Silver Dollar had the "Family of 3" looking at the Canadian Flag whereas the painted Flag Silver Dollar only had one person looking at the flag.

After watching the video on the"inukshuk" coin, it actually looks pretty good - so I bought it, as well. I'm glad the mint is putting out coin videos.

I wonder if this year's reduction in mintage to 12,500 from last year's at 20,000 will likely mean not much of a savings, if any, in buying a SD from a broken set.

People seem to be focusing on the water droplet coin while the reverse gold plated Inukshuk coin is flying under the radar. It could be the sleeper hit for April.
The coin is a gold plated coin that is reversed with the silver as the accents. I've never seen that before and the Mint is advertising it as first of a kind. It looks very good if you see it on the video.
At $59.95, it is a very affordable coin and could be a modest hit like the cherry blossom coin.
EDIT: On the other forum, they say the Inukshuk is at 76% sold. Another indication this coin will be a hit. Get your orders in before it is too late.
