I downloaded Helicon Soft tonight to use for photo stacking. I was able to use it to solve some lighting issues I have been having with my 1909 VDB Woody that I just haven't been able to get to look "right" in a photo... I was having a very hard time to get the photo to show what my eyes have been seeing. So below is the results of about four photos of each side under different lighting conditions stacked on top of each other...

Oh no, that thing is unc! I never knew exactly what you all meant by a Woody until I saw this bad boy and there was no need for explanation... Anyone want to make some guesses as to its grade? I would love to hear those opinions also!

It would be fun to see the four individual photos too. Never thought to stack that way :-)

cjweber wow that is and interesting coin. I like the look of it. you did a very good job photo'ing that coin. I understand how you stacked the shots. I used a similar process. I took images of a toonie with my smart phone. took them to Photoshop elements 13. I stacked them there. I got the look. I wanted as well. focus stacking can help with a lot of coins. I am having a problem with lens reflection on mirror coins. I am going to build a mount that will allow me to shoot from both sides. this should eliminate the lens reflection and shadows as well.

PS Elements has stacking capability!?! I didn't know that! I've been thinking about getting a stacking program myself (to use with Photoshop CS6) but didn't know if I wanted to spend the money. That's good info. Rocky: is there a size limit to the files being stacked and does it stack RAW or jpeg?

That is a really nice '09 VDB woodie! I'd say MS60 or so. Maybe Au58. Great photo, as well. I have a 1910 that's a good match for that one except the grain runs in the opposite direction.
