So far as I can tell, Barry Chappell's shows haven't aired for a few weeks now - at least, they're not on either of the Dish Network channels on which they used to be found. I notice that in the meantime, Rick Tomaska's shows now have spilled over into Saturday, seemingly filling the void (Chappell and Tomaska having had a rather publicly acrimonious parting of the ways some time back).

So does anybody have the skinny on what the current situation is?

The question remains as to the underlying cause(s), which might range from the pedestrian "losing money" to something more revealing about the operation....

Is this the guy who hawks overpriced moderns and silver dollars on late night/ early morning cable?

If so I shall not miss him.

There was a flyer being distributed at Long Beach, which I won't reproduce here as it seems to me to be more prejudicial than informative, plus its authorship is anonymous. The gist of it was that Art & Coin TV has outstanding debts and its purpose would appear to be to dissuade anyone from doing business with Barry Chappell. Such residual ill will leads me to wonder again about the circumstances surrounding Art & Coin TV's abrupt exit from the scene.

I was flipping through the satellite TV choices this past week and caught Barry Chappell hawking fine art (my recollection being that that was his original shopping channel niche). This was under a new company name. The question of precisely why his previous operation (which despite its name had come to concentrate more on coins than art) shut down remains a mystery.
