Finn235 Pillar of the Community United States 6130 Posts	Posted 07/29/2016 1:55 pm After a bit of searching, it appears that this particular one actually predates Islamic influence in the area, but the second picture is a distant abstraction of the fire altar motif from the Indo-Sassanian coins from a couple centuries earlier. I immediately knew this one was silver, but I am eventually going to figure out what that black crud is, and how to get it off. This was actually from the same group of lots that had a western satrap, a Nero tet, that Greek I posted yesterday, and a whole bunch of other goodies. Some real head scratchers to be sure.
