Recently, I bought from a coin dealer a ICCS MS-62 1951 nickel commemorative. He missed the die clash (moon) on the reverse. This is my highest one (MS-62) with this die clash. Is there a premium for that kind of variety or there is no effect. I'll still keep it.
Thanks

In my experience it only brings a small premium and the premium is usually based on the size of the "moon". I've seen plenty of dealers try to sell for way more but I've never seen one actual sell for more then 5-10 dollars over what you'd expect for a same condition non half moon.

I don't think these are all equal in value it may depend on the degree of the clash. I know I've been offered much more for this example. Note the chin clash protruding below the refinery.

Wow! I've had many of these before but none to this extent! That is a very prominent half moon.

These nickels are always interesting and this clash has a lot of eye appeal because a moon can fit right into the setting of the design in my opinion. So a nice moon clash on a nice coin could certainly be of more value to a collector.

That's a very strong clash, well defined and large I would expect something like that to bring the biggest possible premium that a coin like this could get.

also, Apitrix and others who have an example, check out the neck area on the obverse, there are some great remnants of the maple leaves transferred from the reverse.

That there is! I noticed the neck of George is also apparent going up the leaf and all the way past to the I in nickel! Amazing!
